Stop Motion Series
Before The Turtle Nexus, How Bizarre Studios built its production history through original stop motion web series on YouTube. These projects were created and produced by Javier Santiago Montano and represent the studio's earliest creative work.

This show follows the adventures of four foot soldiers trying to survive their toxic working environment and their confrontations with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's essentially a workplace comedy/adventure. Watch on YouTube →
Flaming Carrot
Based on the Flaming Carrot Comic, these stories follow the surreal masked vigilante as he fights for justice. His stories eventually lead to the "Battle Nexus War." Watch on YouTube →
TMNT: Back to Japan
Taking place right after the final episode of the original cartoon, this story takes the Turtles back to Japan where their master wants to spend his final days. But upon arrival, they discover a mysterious new clan has taken over and they have to fight to save the village. The story leads directly to the "Battle Nexus War." Watch on YouTube →
Batman: Two faces of Justice
In this detective story, Batman investigates an assassination attempt on Commissioner Gordon. When everything points to Two-Face as the one responsible, the case takes an interesting turn. While it is a standalone story, one subplot leads to the "Battle Nexus War." Watch on YouTube →
Battle Nexus War
The Battle Nexus world (the nexus between realities) has been invaded by a race of alien warriors. With many characters from the other stop motion series caught in the situation, many heroes (including Miyamoto Usagi and Bruce Lee) will do their best to put an end to the invasion. 'Nuff Said
These are very short stories without dialogue. Only two episodes were produced featuring Daredevil and Catwoman. Watch on YouTube →
Mascots of the Universe
This is a parody of "Masters of the Universe." It's a series of short standalone stories that highlight some of the absurdities of the filmation show and the MOTU lore. Unlike 'Nuff Said, there were many more episodes produced for this series that couldn't get completed. Watch on YouTube →
About the Format
Stop motion animation involves photographing physical objects or characters in small incremental movements to create the illusion of motion. These productions were created practically, using physical sets, models, and frame-by-frame photography, before compositing and editing.
The skills developed in producing these series informed the production workflows that How Bizarre Studios applies to The Turtle Nexus today.
Currently on hiatus
Stop motion animation requires a stable floor, that I no longer have. I used to film these series in my old apartment, but I now live in a house with wooden floors, which definitely move the camera every time I walk.
Between this problem, and the time-consuming nature of "The Turtle Nexus," stop motion animation has become a once every couple of years thing. I still have episodes to film for "Mascots of the Universe" and I hope to finish those some day.
